Lineman is a skilled trades position. HWE linemen are required to complete a 4-year apprentice program which includes 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and classroom training at (COLT) Central Ohio Lineworker Training. On-the-job training includes specific HWE safety standards, Rural Utility Services drawings and line construction specifications, and HWE policy and procedures. Linemen are challenged both intellectually and physically in their positions.
