NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio – Another capacity crowd is expected at the 2nd Annual “Farm Electrical Safety Day” at Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative in North Baltimore on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 from 7:30-11 am; the event is free and open to all Ohio Farm Bureau members in Hancock, Wood and Seneca Counties, as well as any farmers living on Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative lines, and any Prism Propane farming customers.

Following a free hot breakfast, the event will discuss propane safety, farm terrorism and electrical safety. The schedule is as follows:

7:30-8:00 am Free hot breakfast

8:00-9:00 am Propane safety

9:00-10:00 am Farm terrorism

10:00-11:00 am Electrical safety / personal protective equipment

The event is held in cooperation with local Ohio Farm Bureaus. Space is limited, and preregistration is required by contacting Tiffany at 419-257-5012 or tiffany@hwe.coop.

We demonstrate our Concern for Community by volunteering and donating to local charitable causes. Nearly $500,000 in grants have been distributed in the last decade through grants and Operation Round Up funds to individuals and organizations in need. Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative has granted more than $100,000 in scholarships within the last decade. An additional Power Systems Engineer (PSE) Scholarship has been added to the program. The winner of this scholarship is eligible for paid internship(s) in the co-op’s engineering department. learn more
